Marion Stern
Attorney at Law
Marion is responsible for ensuring the firm operates smoothly and that every client receives the best possible legal representation. She meets regularly with clients to gain an understanding of their situation and make sure all their needs and goals are being met.
Marion’s practice focuses on elder law, Medicaid planning, probate and trust administration, fiduciary litigation, estate planning, guardianship, and conservatorships. After a client has chosen us to represent them, Marion executes the agreed-upon plan.
Marion also leads the firm’s probate, trust administration, and fiduciary litigation departments. Her goal in these areas is to address legal issues in a friendly, supportive manner, explaining the issues involved and the options available in an easy-to-understand way. Prior to focusing on estate planning, elder law, and related areas, Marion was a litigator. Estate planning attorneys often refer clients embroiled in family disputes to other attorneys. Marion is quite comfortable handling both the transitional and adversarial components of each client’s case and excels at guiding families through difficult situations. Her ability in this area is due in part to her upbringing. Marion was raised in a large, blended family with different religions and ethnic backgrounds. She learned early on the importance of listening carefully with an understanding and compassionate ear, and that every family situation is unique.
Marion has been practicing law for over 10 years and a Partner Attorney in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Probate since 2015. She began her career as an intern for the Johnson County Kansas District Attorney’s Office, where she first worked in the area of economic crimes and prosecuting perpetrators of elder abuse. Marion received her B.A. from the University of Iowa with the highest honors in History and high honors in Russian. She earned her J.D. from the University of Kansas, where she obtained a Certification in Business and Commercial Law. Marion is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association with an emphasis on the probate section. She is a contributing author of the Probate Manual for the State of Kansas and is a frequent lecturer on Elder Law topics to other attorneys.
Marion is married to a local fireman, Jeff. Together they have three children, Rosalynn, Fred, and Archie. They reside in Olathe, where Marion loves to watch her kids’ sporting events. She also enjoys riding her bike and hanging out with her animals, connecting with nature in the process. In addition, she likes to travel and experience new cultures. Over the course of her life, Marion has lived in Italy, Germany, Spain, and Russia.
I want to help make a positive difference in my clients' lives.
